Spring sports meeting set for March 4th

The unofficial start of the sports season for Algoma athletes begins on Monday with a meeting. Parents of Algoma High and Middle School athletes will review important information such as the co-curricular code and other policies for its spring sports. Information on what parents will need to make sure they have before or at the meeting, including the $15 activity fee, is posted here. 

 

Spring sports include girls soccer, softball, baseball, and track and field. The meeting begins at the high school at 6:30 p.m., which will be after the first track and field practice of the season takes place. 

Algoma fall to Kohler in WIAA Regionals

Algoma could not dig out of a 15 point hole entering the second half as they saw their season come to a close at Kohler in a 63-42 loss on Tuesday. The Wolves simply could not stop Carter Gebler, who hit five three-pointers for the Blue Bombers en route to a 26 point evening. Trevor Nell led the Wolves with 14 points followed by Carter Zimmerman with 12 points. The Wolves finished the season 1-22, with their lone win coming in a nail biting 50-49 decision against Gresham Community. 

 

 

New season begins for Algoma

The regular season is in the rear view mirror as Algoma begins the road to Madison Tuesday night.  Algoma hopes to rebound from a tough loss to Sturgeon Bay its last time out when they travel to Kohler. The Wolves are looking for their second win of the season, but will have to slow down Kohler’s Carter Gebler, who averages just shy of 20 points a game and over three assists. Carter Zimmerman leads the Wolves in scoring with 7.1 points per game while dishing out three assists. The game starts at 7 p.m.
